Burberry at Beijing

It was one of the biggest fashion events held in Beijing. The show was live-streamed via Burberry.com at 8:30pm local time and marked the opening of its flagship store in Sparkle Roll Plaza. Among the invitees were Won Bin, the gorgeous Korean actor, spotted wearing the trademark trench coat, Maggie Cheung with her studded leather jacket, Angelica Cheung, editor-in-chief of Vogue China, and Chinese Actor Chen Kun covered up in his suede trench coat. Du Juan, Chinese model, Philip Huang (the face of MFW Singapore), and Vera Xu of Cosmopolitan China also joined the crowds. In addition, Keane -a British band- was performing after the fashion show.

The theme was about fashion and music where the runway set was a combination of digital 3-D holograms, animated footage and live models. It was breathtaking and captured everyone's attention. I really like the opening animation where umbrellas were flying across the room.

Christopher Bailey has definitely rejuvenated the brand..If in the past i felt that Burberry was more conservative and catered for older consumers, I see more colors and the young modern sides now.

Poh Pia

One of Singapore’s famous local food, Poh Pia, a handmade spring roll I bought from one of the stalls in food center nearby Potong Pasir MRT. Wrapper is made of rice flour, very thin and the filling is a combination of radish that has sweet and juicy flavors, lettuce, egg strips, chopped peanut, chili, plum/sweet sauce, bean sprouts, and shredded carrot.

Fish Porridge

Regular soup with rice. Three pieces of fish fillet with baby pakchoy, some hei mu er, tomatoes and ikan bilis. Bought at nearby hawker center in Potong Pasir for less than s$5..a warm & hearty lunch  for a rainy day..

Simple but delicious

From Sky Thai, a fast food chain found in most malls. You can pick your own dish combo. For budget travelers, this is quite a decent meal.

The meat was soft and the different spices blended just nice. okay am getting hungry now...

Cha Siew/Siew Yuk Fan (bbq pork & roasted pork with rice) & Dumpling Soup

I like the roast pork better compared to the bbq one. It's more tasty especially the pork skin
My favorite, dumpling with pork & shrimp filling. It is juicy and the shrimp is crunchy.

Nasi Briyani with Mutton

Ate at a Hawker Center nearby Potong Pasir mrt. Mutton was not bad, the rice was good and I also bought indian fried doughnut which i missed to take a pic. That one was the best, eaten with curry..yumm
The dish came with rice crackers..

The color mix was great i think, very earthy. yellow mustard, green, brown and orangy red

Did u see the staranise? interesting hey..

Story of my life

I made a big decision to find my true calling. I quit my job and decided to move to Singapore to look for a new adventure, the next chapter of my life journey..a journey to the jungle where i don’t know what lies ahead. I will just follow where life will take me. It isn’t without risks but I am prepared. The past several days were not so bad. Explored a few places and got to eat different dishes. So this is what I’m going to share…My budget food tour during my stay, mostly under SG$ 10 :D

Bad Romance or Bad Eyes?

Gals, you better be careful with the risks of wearing these circle lenses as they might give you blind eyes instead of big eyes...

Istancool

Woohoo...another cool fashion celebration was held in Istanbul this past weekend, starting from Friday July 2-4'10. Gareth Pugh, Kim Jones, Jefferson Hack, and Philip Treacy were among the invitees. Being Turkey's largest city that's rich of cultural heritage, the festival was a concoction of art, design, fashion, literature, film and music.

It was a forum for the British, Turkish and International artists to mingle. You can click: http://www.liberatum.org.uk/istancool.php to get more info...

r.a.w

I just went to the opening of Level One, the new shopping section, in one of the hippest malls in Jakarta. The concept of the stores was simple and back to basic. Some interiors had this unfinished look which gave a modern and chic ambiance. Parallel to the up and rising of fashion industry in Jakarta, i saw several local designers with their masterpieces hung on their stylish little boutique. Few celebs came to celebrate the event, posh looking teenagers checking out one store to another. A local band was entertaining the visitors with free beer stall in the corner provided for everyone to relax and enjoy the evening. This was indeed one Fashion File...

Sydney Fashion Week: Dion Lee the Fashion Star

When: May 3-7 2010
Dion Lee has been under the lime light ever since his first debut at RAFW, integrating classic materials and industrial designs. The rising fashion star came to the rescue at the past fashion week with his strong tailoring and attention to details. Inspired by “the tension between something controlled and something subconscious”, his new collection showed a softer approach with drapes, pleats and prints.
